Does my puppy have Crate anxiety?

I have a 4 month old bluetick coonhound. Every time my family and i leave, whenever we come home my puppy has slobber all over the floor of his crate near the door. I've noticed that he has red sores on his belly. I put a blanket in to see if it would soak up his slobber but he just moves it all around and the blanket ends up being in a ball in the back corner. We put music on and give him toys. He usually slobbers at night when we leave to go eat or do something. During the day when i leave for school and put him away hes fine. When i come home no slobber. Is he like afraid of the dark? I don't know what else to do, PLEASE HELP!!!
