I need some educated opinions, please no follow your heart bullshit?

As a high school sopre i'm beginning to think about my possible ventures after high school. i know i want to go to college but am torn between two particular routes. I love math and science, now even though I've failed to take a physics course i think i love physics. It gives insight not only into life itself but the mechanics of how life works down to the molecular level and i love space so i WANT to study physics in college then go on and get my Ph.d in astrophysics. But in this field i wont be making much money and jobs are scarce. i could become a doctor on the other hand, go though the same amount of schooling and probably less rigorous schooling and get paid more...... The problem is do i do what i want or follow the money?
