My house cat hunts, kills, and then eats spiders. Is this safe? Cause it is so fun to watch!!!?

My cat spent an hour under the chandelier this evening. He was watching a spider pull itself up and down. When it got low enough(well for my cat..it was still like 5ft up) he jumped and got it. Didn't really play with it. Only for a moment. Then the spider bacame a snack. I am a little worried if eating them will harm him. Any input?
