I like to pick really close to the bridge when I solo in guitar. Is this considered bad technique?

My hand just feels so much more natural when I do that and i like the twang that it gives. I pick about two inches in front of the bridge and one inch behind the sound hole. (These are just approximations). Is this considered bad?
