The 13 Colonies were separate political entities; there would have been no immediate change in the political map of North America had the attempt to break away from Parliament been unsucessful. Patliament had banned western settlements, so, the map of 1800 would not have looked anything like what it did in reality. Texas and California have nothing to do with the first question. Any attempt to guess what America today might have been had the Revolution failed belongs to fiction.
